Christmas is the time to recognize that Hope came to us in the form of a child.
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6.
Out of the still of the night came the Miracle of Hope; a baby born of a virgin, lying in a manager that brought Hope to a hopeless world. This Hope brings peace, joy and love to the desperate world we live in. This world is facing desperate times. Times that are troubling and unsettling. Wars are being waged around the world. People in great numbers are having to flee from their homes to escape the fighting and are seeking refuge. There are terrorists’ attacks taking place in different cities around the world. People are experiencing loss by natural disasters, hurricanes, flooding and fires. All areas of the world need their wounds healed by this Hope. Hope is the only remedy, the genuine powerful Hope that only God can give.
“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
God sees the problems of this world, including yours. You may have experienced the loss of a family member, sickness or a family crisis. More than 2000 years ago God’s love opened the Heavens.
“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manager. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” Luke 2:10-14
God’s love is still shining down on us today. He gave us a Saviour, Jesus Christ. He gives us Hope, Peace, Joy and Love that will not only sustain us through the calamities on this earth but will also provide everlasting life through Him.
At Christmas time, Christmas Hope begins to beat in our hearts, causing us to embrace Hope for others. Our hearts open and begin to find ways to give, share and to help others. Such as, providing food baskets, angel tree gifts and other charitable giving. I believe the word HOPE symbolizes HELPING OTHER PEOPLE on EARTH.
May Hope, the Heart of Christmas, continue to beat in our lives throughout the year.
Have a Blessed Christmas
