Never Ending Story
A Never Ending Story that Gave Hope unto the World
Out of the darkness of the night there came a light filled with Heaven’s glory, giving light to a dark and fallen world. Out of the silence of the night suddenly there was music, praising, rejoicing, Angels giving Glory to God in the highest to a world of uncertainty. Out of the still of the night there came a miracle; a baby born of a virgin, lying in a manager. That brought hope to a hopeless world. This never ending story, of hope, that will be remembered through eternity. This hope will bring peace to a desperate world. This hope will take away the sins of the world. Christmas is the time to recognize that hope came to us in the form of a child. “For unto us a child is born. Unto us a son is given. And the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be call wonderful, counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting father, the prince of peace.” Isaiah 9:6 Hope brings Heaven, Angels and God’s glory to us.
Heaven is a place of everlasting bliss, filled with joy, peace, rest, righteousness and holiness that were ushered to earth to bring Hope to mankind. Angelic host came from Heaven proclaiming the news of the birth of Christ that would be called Jesus, the Son of God and the Savior of the world. “For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son that howsoever believeth on Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 Jesus came to be the everlasting door that will open to Heaven and God. “Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh to the Father by me.” John 14:6 Jesus came to give us constant access to an everlasting door that will be open to Heaven and the Father. He is the doorway that will be open to receive God’s love and to send our love back to Him. Our lives can become a doorway to someone this Christmas. Hope brings God himself for a joining together with mankind. “Behold a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is God with us.” Matthew 1:23.
Omnipresence, omnipotence, omniscience means all present, all powerful and all-knowing God came to be with us. He came to dwell with us. He came to save us from our sins. Creator of all things came to be a part of our lives. Emmanuel was a name given to Jesus by the Prophet Isaiah 700 years before his birth. (Isaiah 7:14) This is a very special Christmas name that means “God with us.” The God of the universe, the true creator is omnipresent, everywhere at the same time. He fills all of creation with His presence, every mountain and every molecule; yet His desire for us is to have the fullness of His presence. In Jesus we can have the fullness of His presence. “Thou will show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at the right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” Psalms 16:11. Hope brings praise and rejoicing of the heart for salvation. Christmas time is a time of praising God.
Praising God declares the glory of the greatness of His love for giving Hope to the world. Christmas time is a time of praising and rejoicing in the miracle of Christ’s birth which is Hope. We rejoice in the spirit of Christmas which is peace. We rejoice in the heart of Christmas which is love. Two thousand years ago when Christ was born, life was hard. Food was scarce, sickness and disease was rampant. Death was in the air. There was fear, pain and terror in an uncertain world. Yet there was a breath of hope blowing through the hearts of the people of God. In the midst of distress and oppression, there rose a sense that God was about to do something great, awesome and wonderful in the midst of the darkness. A light of hope dawned in the midst of despair; a promise of joy began to flicker. The Savior, the deliverer has come. “And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” Luke 2:13-14. After the shepherds heard the news they went to Bethlehem to see the Christ child. “And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.” Luke 2:20.
We live in a desperate world today, facing desperate times of crisis searching for hopeful answers to resolve our situations. The world is in the midst of despair with economy and political issues. Men and women are losing their jobs and young people facing uncertainty with their future goals. In some parts of the world danger abounds, terror activities on one hand and poverty on the other. People are experiencing loss by nature disasters, Tsunami, hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding and earthquakes. In such desperate times Hope is the only remedy. It must be real, genuine powerful Hope that only God can give. Hope that brings Eternal life.
Eternal life is a gift from God. Even when life seems impossible, we can rejoice in our eternal hope in the midst of our suffering. We can rejoice in our hope in the midst of our suffering because it contributes to our eternal happiness. We live in this fallen world where grief and joy exist together. We grieve because life is hard and because pain is real. Christmas is a time to recognize that Jesus came from Heaven to Earth, from Earth to the Cross, from the Cross to our hearts. He took all our sins, pain, sorrow and sufferings to the Cross to give us life, hope and an eternal hope. We can rejoice in the gift of our salvation.
“In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.” Titus 1:2, “That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” Titus 3:7
The one born in Bethlehem was none other than God in human flesh. Having lived a perfect life, he died an awful death to pay the price for the sins of mankind. Now He is in Heaven, and any day He could return. How wonderful to know He invites us to be a part of the complete never ending story.
